2025 National Awana Sumit

The Summit event is the annual national gathering for high school students that use the Awana Journey studies. Church teams, regional teams, and individuals joining teams will all compete to become the national champions in Quizzing, Games, Co-Ed Volleyball (six on six) and group or individual Fine Arts Festival. The Quizzing Champion Team will earn a scholarship for each team member and the winner in each category of the Fine Arts Festival will be awarded scholarship money (paid to the college of their choice).

During the Opening ceremony we enjoy a wonderful time of worship and an outstanding speaker.

Participants can attend our College and Ministry Fair giving them the opportunity to meet college representatives, ask questions, and hear what they can offer to incoming Christian students. Raffle prizes are offered via entries made through visiting each participating college table. Prizes have included computer tablets and gift certificates/gift cards.

The highlight of our event is the Citation Ceremony.  This ceremony celebrates each graduating high school student or adult that has earned the right to be presented with the Citation Award. This award is the culmination of ten years of Awana handbooks (Bible Study, Christian Service, read the whole Bible & summarize each book, share their faith through conversation or invite a friend to attend club, and memorize/recite approximately 900 Bible verses).

We close our Summit event with the Platinum Round of Quizzing to determine the national champions followed by the Summit Closing Ceremony. During closing we announce the national champions and present them with their awards finishing with the revealing of next year’s Summit location.

The annual location moves each year which offers students a chance to visit different regions within the United States.

Awana Ministry Conference | Thornton, CO | October 12th, 2024

2024 Thorton Awana Ministry Conference is open!

What is AMC?

The 2024 Awana Ministry Conference™ is an in-person event for child discipleship leaders to gather, share a meal and worship together while you hone your ministry skills and grow in your knowledge of how to reach today’s kids.

Awana leaders, church staff, ministry volunteers, parents and students are all welcome to join us!

AMC 2024 will be the first of three years centered around the theme of “ONE: One child. One family. One mission.” Our focus in 2024 is on the significance of reaching one child at a time with the Gospel.

Through keynote messages, breakout sessions and conversation, we’ll flip the “see the forest for the trees” script. Children’s ministry impacts millions of kids around the globe —  that’s an amazingly beautiful “forest” — but it’s incumbent upon us to also lean in to take a closer look at the trees in our own backyards.

How do we recognize which children are flourishing in their faith and which are floundering? How do we nurture the soil right where we are to feed the faith of kids in our immediate reach?

This generation needs relationship. They absolutely need Bible teaching, but they also need more. They need someone to walk beside them and help them.

In the book "Resilient," Matt Markins challenges, "Parents, church leaders, and child disciple-makers, we must practice navigating real-life conversations with kids and students to help them become devoted followers of Jesus Christ.”

This year's Awana Ministry Conference offers a path to equip your leadership to engage kids in authentic conversations and encourage them to live out their faith and walk in the Spirit to become more and more like Jesus.  Captivating speakers and connections with like-minded leaders, real-solution breakouts, and uplifting worship will prepare your team to guide kids to become all God desires.

Any Awana leader, church staff member, volunteer or parent will find value in this year's AMC!  Join a community of disciplemakers to raise up a generation of resilient disciples of Jesus Christ.

Join like-minded speakers and attendees to discuss, pray and pursue more robust and purposeful child discipleship in our churches and homes.
